Engineer - Electrical (Mid-Senior) - Job ID 10456

The Space Dynamics Laboratory is developing electronics to support the NASA Near Earth Object Surveyor mission. We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced engineer to develop schematics, perform simulations, and oversee fabrication and test of digital electronics to support this planetary defense mission. The selected candidate will be involved in all aspects of payload algorithm discernment, development, optimization, and testing, and be an integral part of the electronics development team, supporting project reviews, deliveries, and integration.  

The selected candidate must be able to work as part of larger electronics teams, internal and external to the organization, and own all aspects of their assigned block of the design from concept to integration and test.

Required Qualifications:

· BS degree in electrical engineering or related field

· Minimum of four years of experience designing, simulating, implementing, testing, and debugging electrical circuits for hardware

· Proficiency using electronic design and simulation tools

· Experience in specifying, selecting, and implementing space grade (Rad-Hard) components and peripherals devices

· Experience with power management/optimization strategies

· Familiarity with space testing and qualification techniques

· Demonstrated experience completing a project from requirement definition to integration and test

· Must be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

· MS degree preferred

· Six to ten years of relevant experience

· Experience in implementing data networks, including Ethernet, SpaceWire, and CAN Bus on high reliability design for space-borne systems

· Experience with printed wiring assembly design rules as they relate to high-speed digital logic design concepts, static timing analysis, and the process by which timing closure is achieved in a design
