Engineer - Satellite Ground Software Engineer - Job ID 9963

The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking several mid-to-senior level software engineers to develop software for satellite ground systems that will be used by mission and satellite operations teams in various capacities. The ground system software is written as a web application using C# as the primary language for the server side support. Members of the ground system team need to be able to support all of the various needs of the application. Commensurate with seniority, candidates will be expected to serve as architecture leads, lead software design efforts, technically manage small teams, oversee development sprints, code testing, and associated documentation development.

Responsibilities will include:

·     Submitting design and code reviews

·     Upholding standard software development processes

·     Writing unit tests

Required Qualifications:

·     BS degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or other related technical field

·     Strong background and expertise in object-oriented design and languages including one or more of the following: C#, C++, or Java

·     Expertise in RESTful endpoints

·     Experience with micro services architecture and/or message-based application design

·     Experience with relational database design and/or ORM frameworks

·     Experience using design patterns

·     Desired full-stack capabilities

·     Familiarity with a front-end framework (desired expertise with Angular)

·     Familiarity with TypeScript, JavaScript and CSS programming languages

·     Work effectively both independently and with team members

·     Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal

·     Must have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance

·     Must be a US citizen

·     Must be able to travel on occasion

Preferred Qualifications:

·     Familiarity with front-end languages and frameworks such as Angular/React, JavaScript, TypeScript and CSS
