The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) has been developing innovative technologies and solutions for cutting-edge DoD and intelligence programs for almost six decades. Our expertise is in space and airborne IR, VIS, UV, and RF sensors, small satellite technologies, test and calibration, cybersecurity, data visualization and assurance, and ground stations.

SDL is seeking applicants for a security specialist to provide multi-disciplined security support.  This position is located in Albuquerque, NM.  The selected candidate will provide critical day-to-day security functions for SDL on contracts supporting the Department of Defense and other customers, including sensitive and classified programs.

Key Responsibilities:

·     Coordinate physical security measures; create and maintain accreditation documents

·         Complete and maintain physical security accreditation documentation (e.g., fixed facility checklists, tempest addendum, and other related documentation)

·     Use Security Assist in construction processes

·     Maintain computer access control systems

·     Assist in maintaining facility entry control systems and alarm systems

·     Administer visitor control and badging, including verifying, processing, filing, and maintaining inbound and outbound visit requests

·     Escort facility visitors and maintain associated logs

·     Conduct facility entry and exit inspections

·     Verify personnel clearances via Defense Central Index of Investigations (DCII) and Joint Personnel Access System (JPAS)

·     Control, catalog, store, and monitor accountable materials

·     Maintain document accountability databases and associated correspondence using SIMS or other document control measures

·     Prepare and process inbound and outbound classified mail, faxes, courier packages, and receipts

·     Process magnetic media for accountability using SIMS or other media control measures

·     Review inbound and outbound correspondence for proper classification

·     Oversee destruction of classified materials

·     Transfer electronic data files via approved means

·     Enter data into the Personnel Access Security System database and maintain customer-sponsored billets and quota information

·     Maintain personnel security files

·     Work with appropriate government organizations to prepare, review, track, submit, and monitor personnel security clearances and access requests

·     Participate in security compliance inspections

·     Prepare and present security awareness training

·     Perform security indoctrinations

Required Qualifications:

·     Bachelor’s degree is preferable or equivalent of directly-relevant experience

·     Skilled with computers and basic office software (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

·     Knowledge of DOD, DOE, and other applicable industrial security programs

·     Must be familiar with security manuals, DCIDs/JAFANs, and other guiding policy documents

·     Must be customer-oriented and have the ability to work in a dynamic environment

·     Must be able to interact effectively with DOD, military, and industry partner personnel

·     Must be able to accept accountability for assignments and work well with others

·     Must have a current DoD TS/SCI clearance

·     Must be a US citizen
